Roy Nelson Hixson II, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022. He was born January 30, 1939 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Roy Nelson and Marie Ida (Mellott) Hixson. Prior to his retirement, Roy worked as a machinist for Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh and later retired from US Steel Clairton Works. He was a member of Shaner Gun Club, was a car enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, attending dirt track races and his time at Crystal Spring Campground. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Cearns) Hixson; daughters, Cheryl Schultz and her husband, Keith, Sharon Bindas and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Ryan and Alexander Schultz, Brandon and Tyler Bindas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment Friday at noon in Everett Cemetery, 134 Rivers Bend Drive, Everett, PA 15537.
