October 21, 1942 - February 23, 2022

David Arthur Hildebrand, age 79, longtime Belleville resident, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born October 21, 1942, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, son of Richard David & LeWanda Jean (Spoonhoward) Hildebrand. He graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School and went on to earn his associate degree from Hillsdale college. Dave also earned a second degree from The Sure Foundation Institute for Biblical Studies. Dave was a man of many skills and talents. In his lifetime, he had been a master carpenter, a builder, a realtor, an auctioneer, a singer, an actor, a musician, a radio personality and a well-known wedding minister. He was the president of a large choir at Brightmoor Tabernacle for four years. He retired from General Motors after over 35 years of service. He attended House on the Rock Church in Ypsilanti, MI. Dave was very joyful and had a great sense of humor. He loved to joke and bring happiness to others. He deeply loved his family and was well loved by everyone that was blessed to know him. Most importantly, he was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ.



David is survived by his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Carolyn Lee (Newton) Hildebrand, two daughters: Debby Hildebrand and LeWanda Thompson, both of Tifton, Georgia; three stepsons: Michael Delaney, Marc (Jennifer) Delaney, both of Belleville, MI, and Matthew (Holly) Delaney of Saline, MI; daughter-in-law Kelly Delaney of Belleville, MI, eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a sister Denise Thornsberry of Michigan, three brothers: Richard (Joelle) Hildebrand, Randy Hildebrand, and Donald Hildebrand, all of Michigan; also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, also a grandson, Daniel Reynolds.



Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday, and 10-11 AM on Friday, March 4, 2022, with an 11:00 AM Funeral at David C. Brown Funeral Home, 460 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, MI 48111(734)697-4500. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Belleville, MI.
