Luene (Armstrong) (Welch) Dorsey passed away at the age of 81 on Oct. 12, 2018, in Las Vegas, NV, where she lived her final days with family. Luene was born June 2, 1937, in Clovis N.M. to Goff and Nedra Armstrong of House N.M. Luene grew up in House where she graduated from House High School as the class Salutatorian in 1955. She was active in sports, theater, cheerleading and held the title of Homecoming Queen. She later attended Eastern New Mexico University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in English. In 1958, she married Eddie Welch, a teacher at House High School. They moved to Los Alamos, NM, in 1960 and to California in 1967. Luene and Eddie divorced in 1968. For the past 30 years, Luene lived in Phoenix, AZ, where she worked as a Reference Librarian and later retired from Arizona State University. Luene is survived by her sister Linda Leonard, her daughters, Connie Lowenstein and Carol Sunnucks, and her son James Welch. She also is survived by six grandchildren (Tiffany, Danny, Matty, Meghan, Mickey and Patrick) and three great grandchildren (Aaron, Noah and Declan).
