Born on March 4, 1957, in Pavo, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Ervin Cooper, and Betty Geraldine Phillips Cooper.
Mrs. Gay was a bookkeeper for Cobblestone Health and Rehab. She loved her crafts, puzzles, reading books, and playing cards. She was known as the card shark. She was her daughter's best friend. She was of the Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Terry Cooper and Steven Cooper.
Mrs. Gay is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Frank Edward Gay of Moultrie; daughters, V L Gay Farmer of Ty Ty; sons, E Gay of Moultrie, and B S Gay of Waycross; brother, R Cooper of Moultrie; sisters, J Bales of Moultrie, and B Puckett Ray City.
