John C. "Scotty" Ross, 86, of Rutherford, passed away peacefully on 26th February 2022. Born in Paisley, Scotland, he came to the U.S.A in 1965. He worked at Superior Packaging Equipment Corp. in Carlstadt for many years and retired as Shipping/Receiving Manager at the age of 62. A hard working, humble and gentle man, he especially enjoyed being home and spending time with family and friends. John was a member of the Scots American Club in Kearny for many years. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Dempsey) Ross. Devoted father of Irene Ross and her partner Steve Oppenlander, Sandra Ross, Carol Gottschalk and her husband Gary, Lynn Mercado and her husband Corbett, John Ross and his fiancée Jennifer, and James Ross and his wife Tracey. Adoring grandfather of 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his cherished granddaughter, Michelle Winand Fawcett, dear parents, James and Catherine Ross, brothers James and Peter Ross, sisters Margaret Adam, Sadie Gay and Jeanette Black, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephew and many long-time friends. Cremation was private. Donations can be made in John's memory to the Bergen County Meals on Wheels program or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements Kimak Funeral Home, Carlstadt.
