Karen Ann Taylor was a United States Air Force veteran. She proudly served her country in the United Sates Air Force from 1973 to 1994. She was trained into the Air Force Supply career field and served as Supply Management Superintendent upon her retirement after 20 years and 7 months. Senior Master Sergeant Taylor served her country from August 1990 to March 1994 in support of Operation Desert Shield/ Storm. She also had 6 years and 4 months foreign service during her enlistment. Senior Master Sergeant Taylor was released from active duty and honorably discharged in March 1994. While in the service of her country Senior Master Sergeant Taylor earned the Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 5 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with bronze service star, Air Force Overseas Short Tour ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour ribbon with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Longevity Service Award ribbon with 4 oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with 2 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Training Ribbon.

Karen Taylor, 66, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away on January 30th, 2022 with her loving husband Calvin Taylor and children by her side. Karen was born on March 4th, 1955 in Meriden, Connecticut to Robert and Jacqueline Gibson. Many would describe Karen as a force to be reckoned with and a very strong willed woman. Karen lived a tremendous life serving her community and country. She did everything from fighting for woman's rights to volunteering with her local fire department. Karen served over 20 years in the United States Air-force retiring as Senior Master Sargent. Post her military career she pursued her passion of interior and floral design. Karen was an advocate for everyone and will leave a trail of amazing women behind her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Jacqueline Gibson, step father Ermino Tedeschi, and her brother Brian Gibson. Karen was survived by her husband Calvin Taylor retired Air-Force Chief Master Sergeant ; her children Sonja and Derek Taylor; her brother Leigh Gibson (Karla);sister in law Gloria Crowder (A.C.); her grandchildren Eric, Ayanna, Sophia, Taylor, Derek Jr. and Isaiah; a host of family and friends.
