James Edmund (Ed) Dixon died, February 25, 2022 at Green Hills Care Facility in Ames, Iowa. Ed was born August 11, 1934 in Clinton, Missouri. In 1945 the family moved to Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Ed later moved to Ames in 1956 where he lived until his death. In 1960, Ed married Eugenia Ann Moore. Two sons were born to this union. They later divorced. He was a member of the Iowa State University faculty for 37 years.

He is survived by son Steven (Kim) Dixon and granddaughter Randie (Kalob) Gist both of Oskaloosa, Iowa, son Michael Dixon of Alexandria, Virginia, and his 2 younger brothers John William of Rochester, New York and Robert Thomas of Lawrence, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his father James Everett Dixon, Jr. and his mother Mary Louise (Sally) (nee Roby) Dixon.

As per his wishes, a family graveside service is planned. His cremains will be buried at the Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames.
