A graveside service was held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday. March 1, 2022 in Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Marty Mullis officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
Mrs. Wood was born on May 3, 1924, to the late Silas Elzie Cravey, Sr. and Cora Ellen Ross Cravey in Sycamore. She grew up in Turner County where she graduated from Turner County High School as the Valedictorian of her class. She daughters remember her being a good Mama, a great cook, and an excellent seamstress. She loved growing flowers and working in her yard. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, four sisters and her husband W. Lee Wood who died, April 12, 2012. Most of her working life she was an office manager and bookkeeper for Southern Cotton Oil Company in Cordele for thirty-two years. She was a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law; Teekeela and Ray Saunders of Tifton and Tonya and Gary Harrell of Valdosta, Her grandchildren Jennifer and Nathan Brantley, Dr. Kyle Lee and Ashlie Harrell and Candis and Josh Davis, her great grandchildren; John Brantley, Anna Brantley, Mason Harrell and Brooks Harrell, Jaeden Davis, Jentry Davis and Jensen Davis and her sister-in-law Judy Cravey of Shalimar, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
