Barbara Shepherd, daughter of Brice Shepherd and LouEaster Salyers was born and raised in David/Goodloe area of Floyd County.
She married Felix Allen and they had 5 children.
When their daughter Easter Allen passed away, both her and her husband were admitted by family into the Eastern State Hospital (two days apart in 1906).
Both Felix (1907) and Barbara (1948) died in the hospital.
Felix was buried in the mass graves at Eastern State Hospital Cemetery.
Barbara was sent to the University of Louisville Medical School for cremation and burial.
