Monroe - James Joseph Hoffman, 70, formerly of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly July 18, 2021 at his home in Mastic, New York.
Jim was born July 31, 1950 in Monroe to Carl and Elizabeth (Jondro) Hoffman.
He attended St Michael Grade School and graduated from Catholic Central High School with the class of 1968. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972.
Jim was a devout Christian who took every opportunity to share God's word with others.
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years Ilia (Rodriguez), son Carl (Gabrielle) and two grandchildren Jaxon and Abigail. He is also survived by six siblings, David (Elizabeth Rubel) Hoffman of Dundee, Glen (Janet) and Steven (Nancy) Hoffman of Monroe, Denis of Ooltewah Tennessee, Carol (Tony) Tagal of Kanoehe, Hawaii, Cecilia (Paul) Wiley of Swan Lake, Montana and many nieces and nephews.
A Private family and friends gathering will be held July 31st on what would have been Jim's 71st birthday.
In honor of Jim, memorial donations are suggested to The American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
