He was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on August 11, 1959 to Larry and Sharon Thompson. He married Ann Welu on May 2, 1987 in Dubuque, IA.
Jeff was a carpenter by trade, worked construction in Spooner, WI and was also a volunteer fireman. Jeff moved to Hastings as a lumber salesman at Top Do It and Shaw Lumber. Ultimately, he returned to building construction at Graus Builders and J. Thompson & Associates.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors with family and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon; brother, Jamie; and grandson, Gavin.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Josh Thompson, Lisa Thompson, Kristie Davenport, Asa (Samantha) Thompson and Shane Thompson; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; father, Larry Thompson; sister, Janice Edinger; brother, Steve Thompson; and many other relatives and friends.
