John Ben Rose age 89, passed away at his home in Columbus on February 24, 2022, with his wife and daughter at his side, from complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was born October 17, 1932, in Molus Kentucky and was raised until the age of 15 in Jellico, Tennessee. John graduated in 1951 from Woodward High School in Toledo, Ohio then entered the Air Force and was stationed at Lockbourne AFB in Columbus. Friends introduced him to his loving wife, Mondra, to whom he was married for 65 years. John received an Associates of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Franklin University. He retired as a foreman of the Meter Department, Division of Electricity, City of Columbus. John was a KYCH and head and loyal member of several Masonic bodies including: Canal Winchester Lodge #670 F&AM, York Temple Chapter #155 RAM, Columbus Council #5 R&SM, Mt. Vernon Commandery #1 and Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church South. He loved to golf, work in the yard, read civil war accounts, and watch westerns. John was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He used to say that he only hoped that we knew just how much he loved us. John was preceded in death by parents James McPherson Rose and Rose Burgan Rose; brother Arthur Rose; brothers-in-law Jerre Crabtree and Mitch Joyner; parents-in-law Harold Wiley and Norah Sullivan Wiley.
