Revolutionary War Minuteman/Patriot.
1. "Went out on 'Lexington Alarm' as corporal in Capt. Dickinson's Company from Amherst, Mass., April 19, 1775, and took part in the first battle of the war for Independence." Quoted from an 1899 genealogical chart compiled by his 2d great grandson Valorus Bruce.
2. Promoted to Quartermaster Sgt., Saratoga NY, 1778. Nat'l Archives records.
3. Carpenter/bricklayer in construction of some of the first buildings of Dartmouth College, Hanover, Grafton Co., NH in 1787ff. College historical records, also located there at the 1st Fed Cen in 1790.
