Jonathan Hark Kelly, age 35, went to be with his heavenly father on January 28, 2022. Jonathan was born on October 2, 1986 to his parents Dennis Kelly of Slate Creek and Denise Lee Liptak of Roanoke, VA.

Jonathan was a certified welder and former employee of Jewell Smokeless and Big Lots but found his calling as a caregiver helping his favorite aunt (Debbie Johnson) take care of his grandmother for the past several months.

Jonathan loved the outdoors, working in the garden, writing songs, spending time with his dog Roland, but most of all he loved talking about the Lord and talking with his mother, father, and daughter Zoey.

Jonathan was called to be with his heavenly father far too early than we all would have liked.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Deedy and Edna Kelly, maternal grandfather, Roland Lee; uncles, William Roland Lee, Harless Kelly, Robert Kelly, and Danny Kelly; and aunts, Betty Johnson and Frankie Rife.

Jonathan is survived by his parents, Denise (Tim) Liptak of Roanoke, VA and Dennis Kelly of Slate Creek VA; precious daughter, Zoey Anderson of Haysi, VA; brother, Anthony (Kylie) Kelly of Roanoke, VA; sisters, Jasmine Pennington of Grundy, VA Megan Minnix and Morgan White of Nashville, TN; special niece Deanna Kelly and nephew Tyler Kelly of Elliston, VA.

He is also survived by his precious maternal grandmother who has since passed, Georgia Irene Riffe Lee of Grundy, VA, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Most notably Uncle Donald Kelly and Aunt Shirley Horn and cousins, Wendy Looney, Chrissie Cecil, Kitty Price, Jake Redmond and many more.

The family would like to give thanks to everyone who diligently searched for Jonathan. A very special thanks to his niece Deanna Kelly and his brother Anthony for never giving up on him and bringing him home to his final resting place.

Funeral services for Jonathan Hark Kelly will be conducted Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Keen Mountain, VA with Joel Horn, Dale Blankenship and Randy Keen officiating.
