Ernest "Dewey" Lamb, Jr. was born November 6, 1950 in Robeson County, North Carolina, son of the late Ernest Dewey Lamb, Sr. and Blanche McInnis Lamb.

Dewey retired from L.O.F. / Pilkington Glass Manufacturing and later from Scotland Memorial Hospital. He served as a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church and was head of the Sonshiners Group. Dewey enjoyed serving in the Scotland County Community, serving as a board member of the Historical Property Society and the Scotland County Highlands Committee. He was a devoted Mayberry Fan, forming the Shakedown, Shakedown Chapter of Laurinburg and was a member of Mayberry TAGS Chapter. He also received many Mayberry awards, the Mayberry Friendship Award and the Jim Schwenkee Award. Above all, Dewey dedicated his life to his daughters, his pride and joy, calling them his "Dewey Darlings". He will truly be missed as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Dewey passed away at the age of 71 on February 22, 2022.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Grundin.

Dewey leaves behind his wife, Connie Lamb of the home; daughters, Erin Sutherland (Andrew), Kelly Disharoon; sisters, Betty Faulk, Kathy Lamb, all of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Diana Sutherland, Alexander Sutherland, Luke Sutherland, Abigail Sutherland, Regan Disharoon, Roman Spegal, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Michael Malpass. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the church.
