Grace Paige Johnson 2004 - 2021

Grace Paige Johnson, daughter of Joseph Allen and Hailey Dawn (Hardisty) Johnson, was born on February 17, 2004 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. On Monday, August 23, 2021, Grace entered into eternal rest at Nebraska Medicine - Omaha from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident on August 18 at the age of 17 years, 6 months, 6 days.

All of Grace's life was spent in the Shenandoah community. She attended the Shenandoah Community Schools and was set to begin her senior year at Shenandoah High School. In her earlier years she participated in basketball and volleyball. Already thinking about her future, Grace was making plans to attend South Dakota State University and major in nursing. Along with school nurse Linda Laughlin, Grace was helping to implement the HOSA Program for future medical professionals at SHS. Some of the things that Grace enjoyed were binge watching Netflix series, painting, knitting, spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend. She was also fond of shopping, had a love for succulents, and took pride in being a professional napper.

Though she had many favorite things, some of the things that stand out were her love of the color blue, Panda Express, soft blankets and Chapstick a lot of Chapstick! Her cat, Hobbs, was extremely important to her and she had a love for him like no other. The last few summers were spent lifeguarding at the Wilson Aquatic Center where she built lots of friendships and left an impact on all the children she gave lessons to. Grace will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, the way she always had kind things to say to any person she came across, her caring and generous nature, her humor, and the joy she radiated at all times.
