Son of Thomas Clyde Fowler and Guynell Hall Fowler. He graduated from Canton High School and the University of North Georgia in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. While there, he tried out and made the Varsity Baseball team, and pitched for 4 years. After college he tried out and was signed on to the Atlanta Cracker's team. Before he could start with the Crackers, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC. While there he played for the Post Regimental team for 2 years, during which time he sustained an injury to his pitching arm. After his Honorable Discharge and an extensive rehab period, he attempted to pitch for the Cracker's farm team in Baton Rouge, LA but his injury prevented him from pursuing a professional baseball career. He was inducted into the University of North Georgia's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. He later earned a Masters Degree at UGA. He returned to his hometown of Woodstock, GA after his baseball career ended. He taught Biology at Canton High School until being appointed Postmaster in Woodstock, where he worked until he retired. Surviving are his wife, Glenda Warwick; son, Thomas Hall Fowler (Beth); four grandchildren, Molly Fowler Giddens (Sam), Thomas Hall Fowler II (Audrey), Jacob David Parker (Jordan) and Katherine Parker Sanders (Josh); four great-grandchildren, Chaapel Giddens, Wright Giddens, Quin Parker, and Marlowe Sanders; and brother, Howard Eugene Fowler.
