John Gilbert
1935 - 2022

John passed peacefully at home and rose into the arms of the angels to carry him into the light.

His warm smile will be missed by his loving wife Brenda who enjoyed the last 21 years with her soulmate. He shared a lot of love for the living.

He was a retiree after 34 years of service for the Southern New England Telephone Co and always missed working with his cohort Brian. They often reminisced about the interesting jobs they had worked on together.

He proudly served in the Air Force from 1954 – 1957.

He is predeceased by his first wife Marguerite Barrett, his mother Irene Gilbert, and five sisters (Irene Gilbert, Emma Gilbert, Doris Gilbert Brought, Muriel Gilbert Bradley, and Carolyn Gilbert Morgado).

He is survived by his five daughters: Susan Driscoll and her husband, Drew, Dorene Gilbert, Anne Heinlein and her husband, John, Kimberly Gilbert and his namesake Joan Stephanie Nelson and her husband, Gary.

He has nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter, who brought him bursting laughter and merry giggles the past few months.

Interment in Wooster Cemetery.
