Passed away at Froedtert Hospital on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, age 97. Beloved husband of the late Marion (nee Gilzmer) Krause. Dear father of Ronald (Susan) Krause and Kenneth (Linda) Krause. Grandfather of Kristine (Bruce) Knutson, Timothy (Courtney) Krause, Kathryn (Paul) Gaulke, Michael Krause, Elizabeth (Mike) Hable and the late Joseph Michael Krause. Great-grandfather of Brynn, Aksel, Morgan, Hannah and Annika. Fritz was the last survivor of five brothers and their wives; Jim (Alice), Tom (Marge), Bobby (Frieda) and Mickey (Betty). Brother-in-law of the late Evelyn (the late Howard) Riggins and the late Delores Conrad. Further survived by brother-in-law Larry Conrad, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fritz lived to fish and was good at it. He loved his family and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his joy in his later years. He was a World War II veteran, member of Gross-Yaksh VFW Post. He was retired from the City of Milwaukee where he worked as a mechanic. Fritz was very much a raconteur and told endless fishing stories and reminisced often about his service experiences in the European theater. As a child of the Depression, he knew how to stretch a dollar and could fix just about anything. He wanted to live to be 100 but sadly his body just gave out. He will be missed by his family but we know he is with Ma again. Rest easy Pa.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16 at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35 W23360 Capitol Drive, Pewaukee from 10 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 12 Noon. Burial to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
