James "Jim" William McCarthy, 83, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, on February 24, 2022 in Ocala, FL. He was born November 11, 1938 to Julian W. McCarthy and Elizabeth Pate McCarthy in Macon, GA. He worked as a Commercial Underwriter for Cigna Insurance Company. He was a member of the Friendship Masonic Lodge #53, and prior to moving to Florida from Columbus, Georgia a member of the Mt Herman Lodge #304. He was a Knight Mason and a member of Scottish Rite of Ocala, Red Cross Constellation, and York Rite College #166. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS San Marcos as a Radarman.

He is preceded by his parents and son, James Michael McCarthy.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. McCarthy; son, William M. "Marty" McCarthy (Marti); daughter, Kathy Conkle (Joey). He had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 2, 2022 at Countryside Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Anthony Cemetery.
