Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert Keith Arnold will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Lyndon Marcotte officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Arnold, 89, of Ball, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in his residence.
He was a graduate of Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He made a career with the U.S. Forest Service as a civil engineer, where he enjoyed working in the field with road design and survey work. He began in Custer, South Dakota then moved to Monte Vista, Colorado and ending up in Pineville, Louisiana in 1977. He retired in 1989 with 30 years of government service.
He loved all sports and spent lots of time watching his grandsons play baseball and football, or watching any sport that was on TV. He had a love of gardening that included flowers, fruits and vegetables. He and his wife traveled extensively, visiting and exploring the United States from coast to coast; including the Caribbean and Hawaii.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Delia Dean Schellenger Arnold; parents, Frank and Ruth Arnold; five brothers, Frank, Chuck, Eddie, Richard and Wally; one sister, Josephine; and daughter-in-law, Becky Arnold.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include three sons, Stephen Arnold, of Alvin, Texas, Peter Arnold, and his girlfriend Michelle, of Jefferson, Texas, and Roger Arnold, and his wife, Tammie, of Tioga; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 10:00 until the service at 12:00 p.m.
