Joyce Annette Poole, 81, of Denton, Texas was born on October 8, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa to Myron and Alta Poole,

and she passed away at her home on February 20th, 2022.

Joyce was raised and grew up in Urbandale, Iowa. She relocated to Denton, Texas in 1985 after living in Illinois.

She started college at Stephens College and later was married to John Kunzman. Joyce completed her bachelor's degree in at the University of North Texas in 2002.

Joyce had a life-long love of animals. She loved horse riding from a young age and pursued raising German Shepherds professionally throughout most of her life. One of her proudest achievements was earning Champion status with several of her shepherds.

Prior to her retirement, Joyce worked for Texas Instruments and Peterbilt as an executive assistant.

She was a long-time member of Denton Bible Church and was active in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). Joyce served on the City of Denton's planning and zoning committee for many years, and her work with researching her family's genealogy led to membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Dmitry Kunzman.

A memorial service will be held at Denton Bible Church on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. She will be interred at Greenwood Friends Cemetery in Ankeny, Iowa at a later date.
