arah Elizabeth "Beth" Deweese, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Sunday, February 20, 2022. She was retired, after working as a librarian at Glen Oaks High School in Baton Rouge. She was a native of Meridian, MS. There will be a visitation on Friday, February 25, 2022, at The Rock Church of Zachary, LA from 12 noon until funeral services at 2 pm. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, MS at noon. She is survived by two sons, Claude Edward Deweese III and his wife Laura of Zachary; John Chalk Deweese of Alexandria; one sister, Manning Chalk Pharis of Meridian, MS; four grandchildren: Sarah Granger, Nathan Deweese, Jaron Martin, and Mary Deweese; four great-grandchildren: Jack, Meredith, and Thomas Granger, and Griffin Ogaard; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Lou Chalk; her husband Rev. Claude Edward Deweese Jr.; daughter Deborah Deweese Martin; and sister Louise Marie Graves.
