Deborah was born on July 13, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Harold M. and Gloria B. (Kemnitz) Hopkins. She grew up in New Orleans and graduated from Ben Franklin High School in 1967. She married William Michael Brown on April 5, 1969, at the First United Methodist Church in Perry, Oklahoma.
Deborah had many talents and hobbies. She loved doing crafts and her favorite was stained glass. Her favorite color was purple, and her favorite flowers were daisies. Deborah was a math teacher in Perry for over twenty years. She loved her students and loved teaching kids.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rod Hopkins.
