Jimmy was born October 5, 1942 in Edwardsville, Illinois son to the late Ray Franklin and Thelma (Jackson) Simmons.
He was a construction laborer and worked at Oil-Dri in Mounds.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Ray Simmons; mother, Thelma Smiley; and brother, Bobby Simmons.
Survivors include his wife, Mary , sons, daughters, stepdaughters, brother, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
