Donna L. "Dony" Wilson, 66, a beloved mother and the widow of Gene T. Wilson, Jr., went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital
Mrs. Wilson was born the daughter of Ralph Self and Lillian Self on January 28, 1956, in Georgetown.
She enjoyed going to yard sales, bargain hunting, being an artist and singing. She loved her cats especially her fur baby, Stewart.
She was a member of the Grace Temple Church family and loved sharing her love for God. Her smile brightened the day of those whose lives she touched. Her greatest pride and love were being a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great grandmother.
She lived her life according to Proverbs 31, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her...But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised."
She is survived by three children, Tracy Blakely (Mardie Sr.), Brandi Mathis (Bob), and Gene Wilson III (Tiffany); eleven grandchildren, Mardie Blakely Jr., Nicholas Blakely, Paxton Blakely, Noah Mathis, Kaelin Mathis, Taylor Wilson, Ella Wilson, Parker Wilson, Gracie Childress, Raylin Childress, and Luke Childress; and a great-grandchild, Rylee Blakely. She also leaves behind: two sisters, Betty Jacobs and Gloria Howell; and a brother, Lamar Self (Tangie).
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gene; and granddaughter, EEmily Faith Mathis.
A Home Going Celebration will be 3PM, Monday, February 28, 2022, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2515 North Fraser Street, Georgetown. Interment directed by McKenzie Funeral Home will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The Wilson family will receive family and friends, 6-8PM, Sunday evening, February 27, 2022, at Grace Temple Church, 1144 Georgetown Hwy, Georgetown.
