Earl Gene Johnson

April 11, 1934 - February 24, 2022 Earl Gene Johnson, age 87, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022 at his home of Marrowbone Creek of Elkhorn City. Earl was born on April 11, 1934 to his parents the late Earl Johnson and Oma Coleman Johnson. Earl was the husband of the late Carol Slone Johnson, a business owner of Johnson's Store, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

Along with his wife and parents, Earl was preceded in death by one daughter, Veronica Epling, and one grandson, Ryan Epling.

Earl is survived by his grandson, Chris (Samantha) Epling, great granddaughter, Kiernan Epling, his son in law, John Paul Epling, one sister, Carol Salyers, and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 28, 2022 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Dale Sanders and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
