Martin, youngest son of William D. and Mahilda (Kirby) Abbott, born and lived on the home place where he died in a barn fork accident. It fell on him, entering his heart. Married 18 Nov 1884 to Martha Price. Four children born. She died 3 August 1906. Married then Maggie Bailey who died 7 Feb 1913. Married third Lydia Scott who survives, with children Elwood H.; Emmett P.; Harold H.; Ralph A., Mrs. Grace McCollum, Mrs. Nettie M. Thudium and Ruby C. Abbott; brothers, John W., Hubbard H.; Asa A.; Thomas B., George H. , Benjamin F.; sisters, Mrs. Martha S.Fulton and Mrs. Caroline Ratliff, the only one being able to attend the funeral. Services Bethel Church. Burial Bethel Cemetery, Winigan MO. (The Browning Leader-Record, issue Feb 1916, Browning, said burial was at Price Cemetery, death certificate said Bethel).
