Reverend Charles Franklin Brumley was born on October 9, 1937 in Frankfort, Kentucky, to the late Margaret and Allen Franklin Brumley. He graduated from Frankfort High School, Transylvania University, Lexington Theological Seminary and the University of Louisville.

He was a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) minister for over forty years. He was minister Emeritus of First Christian Church in Lawrenceburg. He served the Kentucky Congregations of Flatwoods Christian Church (Waco), Harrodsburg Christian Church, Shawnee Christian Church in Louisville, First Christian Church of Berea and the First Christian Church of Lawrenceburg. After retirement he was interim minister for several churches in Kentucky. He served the Oak Hills Christian Church in Butter, PA.

Chuck was a member of the Board of the Christian Church in Kentucky and was the 2nd moderator for one term. He was president of the church district work, mentored Seminary students on the Committee on the Ministry.

His past community interests included Ministerial Association, Lion's Club, Rotary Club, Anderson County Library Board, Berea and Frankfort Hospital Boards, Lexington Theological Seminary Alumni Council, Anderson County Extension Service, counseling at church camp, Berea Community High School Football Chain Gang coaching, Y.M.C.A. Football and Basketball and Berea Middle School Girls basketball. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Chuck is survived by his wife LaVerne Smith Brumley and their two children, John Brumley (Juliah) and Charla Reed (Michael). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessica Brumley, Jacob (Tori) Brumley, Camden Reed, Carter Reed and great grandchild, Annie Mae; and a lifelong friend, John Bridwell (Charlene) and his loving relatives in Georgia.

He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchild, sports, ministry, having a good sense of humor, his many friends and all he came in contact with.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 28, 2022 at the First Christian Church, 300 S. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY with Rev. Jim Wheeler and Rev. Bill Shiphorst officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 - 6 PM Sunday, February 27th and after 10 AM Monday, all at the church.
