Sandra Faye Cook Merritt, age 72, of Acworth, GA, formerly of Tallapoosa, passed away February 20, 2022.

She was born June 7, 1949, in Marietta, GA, to the late Ray and Christine Turley Cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Courtney "Curt" Merritt; a sister, Joan Weaver; and a brother, Bobby Cook.

Sandra retired from Bellsouth AT&T after 38 years of service and later from the City of Bremen Parks and Recreation Department after 10 years of service. She was also a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kennedy and Hurley Boyd, of Tallapoosa; four grandchildren, Jeremy Sykes-Boyd, Sara Sykes-Boyd, Mihkayla Boyd, and Olivia Boyd; a sister, Joyce Boyd, of Acworth, GA; and a brother, Kenneth Cook, of Dallas, GA.

Aquamation services are being provided by Miller Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Bobby Therrell and Rev. Kevin Ayers officiating. Music will be provided by Jeremy Sykes-Boyd.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM.

Miller Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
