Dorothy Jean Johnson, 83, of Santa Rosa, NM passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Dorothy was born on October 10, 1938 in Las Vegas, NM to W.F. "Bill" Johnson and Lorena (Peace) Johnson. Dorothy was raised in Santa Rosa, where she graduated from Santa Rosa High School. Dorothy was active on the family ranch and also worked for Shop Rite Foods in Albuquerque and for McDonald's in Santa Rosa.

Dorothy made her home in Santa Rosa where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Dorothy enjoyed working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles and on arts and crafts activities. She also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Billie Lou Johnson Hitson.

Dorothy is survived by: her niece, Pat Copeland, her great-nephew, Matt Copeland, as well as cousins "by the dozens" and "many great friends—my family".

Cremation will take place followed by a private committal.
