She was born March 26, 1939 in Connellsville, the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys Lilley Metcalf.
She resided in Alverton, East Huntingdon Township where she raised four daughters, worked at Connellsville Sportswear as a seamstress and was a member of Mount Zion Community Church. She loved camping, boating, gardening, watching movies and cooking shows. She was a loving mother who was devoted to be a witness for God to her family and friends. She enjoyed nearly twenty years in Florida alongside her late husband, Robert, helping the missionaries at New Tribes Mission. They moved to DeBary, Florida and became members of Grace Baptist Church. Together they spread the news of Christ through a Tract Ministry. She also enjoyed helping at a local nursing home. Alone she attended Volusia County Baptist where she played the trumpet in the orchestra. She later moved to Salt Springs, Florida where spent her time enjoying friends and teaching Sunday school at the First Baptist Church. In 2011, she moved back to Pennsylvania to spend time with her family. She joined the Scottdale Concert Band and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play instruments in high school.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-nine years, Robert Dale Moore, whom she married July 2, 1961; her only sister, Wanita Miller (December 2021)
Those left to honor her life include her daughters; Belinda Mulhorn of Latrobe, Marla Stout of Mount Pleasant, Darla Byers of Scottdale and Brenda Lessman of Connellsville; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and close friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc., 417 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale with Pastor Barry Witt of Faith Bible Church, Connellsville, officiating.
Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
