Leslie Dale Hamilton was born August 29, 1946, at Walhalla, ND, the son of William and Christina (Frank) Hamilton. He grew up in Walhalla but moved with his family to Fargo when he was in school. They moved to Battle Lake, MN when Les was a senior in high school.
Leslie entered the U.S. Navy and served two years prior to transferring to National Guard where he served the remainder of a twenty-year career in the military.
On August 18, 1967, Leslie was united in marriage to Carol Cunningham at Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo. They later lived in Coon Rapids, MN for 45 years, moving to Fargo in 2020. During those years, Les worked for the National Guard, and other companies, including Comcast.
Les was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, loved fishing, and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and had even taught some of them how to drive.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol; three daughters Kristen (Keith) Kennedy, Andover, MN, Michele Hamilton, Minneapolis, MN, and Holly Hamilton Champlin, MN; ten grandchildren Devin, Cody, Tanner, Amanda, Nathan, Travis, Amiya, Makayla, Makenzie, & Olivia; Two great-grandchildren Abbey & Oliver. Also by three brothers Ron (Mary) Hamilton, Richard (Romayne) Hamilton, both of Fergus Falls, MN, and Harry (Wanda) Hamilton, Sharon, ND; and brother-in- law Larry Cunningham, Fargo, ND.
Les was proceeded in death by his parents, daughter, Christine, granddaughter, Bailey, and seven siblings, Arnold, Clara, Wayne, Marge, Dennis, Tom, and Lee.
