VIRGINIA L. "GINNY" BAKER, 79, of Garrett, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at her home. Born in Flint, Ind., Virginia was an office manager with Merkler Machine Works for 27 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Maxwell Baker of Garrett; son, David (Craig Seekamp) Baker of Imperial, Mo.; daughters, Lisa (Bob) Ross of Sturgis, Mich. and Penny (Gary) Keister of Columbia City; brothers, Hubert Reeder of Lake Placid, Fla. and Robert Reeder of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sister, Barbara Mauk of Mason, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie Baker; sister, Emogene Kalb; and parents, Hubert and Estella Reeder. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the funeral home.
