Betty C. May, 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Jacksonville, Florida on December 26, 2021. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a stay-at-home mom who worked part-time for M&M Mars Candy Company prior to selling Avon for forty-eight years. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, as well as visiting and catching up with family and friends.
In addition to flora, her favorite fauna were bunny rabbits and ducks. Even at 87 she remained an independent busy-bee and looked forward to running errands. She loved desserts and at some meals would eat them first. She always enjoyed her church community.
Betty lived a long, happy life and was grateful for each day. She was like a rare gem. She will be sorely missed and remain forever in our hearts.
Betty was preceded in death by Jim, her loving husband of 52 years, her parents and three siblings. Remaining to cherish her memory are her son, James R. May, Jr.; daughter, Melody Jackson; grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews and one precious, great-great niece.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, 4001 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207 officiated by Kyle D. Reese. Donations to the church would be greatly appreciated.
