Donald D. Graber, 85 of Berne, Indiana passed away Thursday
evening February 18, 2021 at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana.
Don was born on January 12, 1936 to Henry P. and Adella (Habegger)
Graber at their home farm in Monroe Township. He was united in
marriage to Nancy Eicher on March 25, 1972 at the First Mennonite
Church in Berne, where he is a member.
Don graduated from Adams Central High School in 1954 and later
attended schooling to receive his Journeyman's license as a
maintenance machinist. He retired from the National Guard after 20
years of service. Don was previously employed by Adams Builders,
McIntosh, Masco in Kendallville and Limberlost Construction. He was
also a co-owner of Monroe Construction.
Don had many interests which included woodworking, creating and
building wooden toys, fishing, gardening and working on word and
logic puzzles. He, along with Nancy spent many years volunteering at
Camp Friedenswald, in Cassopolis MI, helping with various projects,
which included helping to prepare many meals for campers and staff.
Don was a wonderful helpmate for Nancy. Together they enjoyed
hosting and preparing countless meals for family and friends.
Together, Don and Nancy also enjoyed spending time/caring for
various great, and great great nieces and nephews. Don and Nancy
were an inseparable team.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy and son Joe (Jilaine) Graber of Berne.
One sister, Eileen (Sprunger) Daugherty of Berne. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Rich and
Delores Moser, and step mother Rachel (Schwartz) Graber.
A memorial service for Don will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday,
February 27, 2021, at First Mennonite Church with Pastor Jim Schwartz
officiating. Due to Covid 19 precautions, there will be no visitation
prior to the service on Saturday.

Preferred memorials can be given to Camp Friedenswald or Swiss
Village.
