Daughter of Charley and Margie E. Woodby∼Dorothy Marie Ashman, 90, 1067 Dry Creek Road, Elizabethton passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
She was a native of Unicoi County and was a daughter of the late Charlie and Marjorie Johnson Woodby.
Mrs. Ashman had been employed at North American Rayon and local Dry Cleaners for many years. She was a Baptist by faith and was an avid Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pasty Ann Wilson; a brother, Stewart Oliver Woodby; a sister, Nellie McMahon; a granddaughter, Vickie Richard and a great-grandson,
Mark Anthony Hopson.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances Hopson and Tana Lee Osterhouse both of Johnson City; ten grandchildren, Stanley and Steve Hopson, Sherry Richard, Pamela Masonee, Lisa Wilson, Susan Watkins, Becky Bradshaw, Michael Heatherly, Megan and Amanda Osterhouse; eight great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ashman will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Estep officiating. Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery, Unicoi. Pallbearers will be selected from the grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the service time. Also other times at the home on Dry Creek Road.
