George was born August 12, 1925, in Kirby, Pa. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps as a nose gunner in the B17G and an armament officer.
After serving his country, George worked as an agent operator on the B&0 Railroad until his retirement.
George is survived by his wife of 75 years, Betty Jeanne (Allan) Mason, whom he married on August 29, 1946; their children, Sue (Dan) Profitt, George W. Mason, Jr., and Saundra (Robert) Kratzer. George also has four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special family friend, Susan Bohrer, and his fur baby, Miss Mittsy.
George was preceded in death by two granddaughters.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Tufts Schildmeyer-Blanchester with Pastor John Fitzgerald officiating.
Interment will take place at Blanchester IOOF Cemetery, where military honors will be observed.
