Our hearts were deeply saddened at the sudden passing of our beloved, William Edward "Jimmy" Gee, Jr. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Jimmy was born December 1, 1956 in Petersburg, Virginia to the late William Edward Gee, Sr. and Mildred A. Johnson-Gee.

After graduating from Petersburg High School in 1974, he attended the University of Maryland-College Park where he was initiated into the Theta Theta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 1976 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism in 1978 from the University.
