Mrs. Jackie Hampton, 63, 129 White St., Erwin, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Hampton was a lifelong Unicoi County resident and a daughter of the late Robert L. White Sr. and Ruth Herndon White.
She was a cosmetology instructor.
Mrs. Hampton was a charter member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church, Erwin.
She was preceded in death by one grandson.
Survivors include her husband, Emmett Hampton; one son, Michael E. Hampton, Erwin; one daughter, Teresa Hampton Orton, Beaufort, N.C.; three brothers, Robert L. White Jr. and Curtis B. White, both of Erwin, and Douglas L. White, Johnson City; two sisters, Geraldine Banks and Betty Tipton, both of Erwin; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jackie Hampton, 63, 129 White St., Erwin, who died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, will be held at 8 p.m. Monday from the Erwin Memorial Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Charlie Murphy will officiate. Music will be provided by Allan Foster and Inez Chandler. Entombment will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City. Larry McKinney, Richard White, Terry White, Bob Grimes, Roger White, Dale White, Billy White, B.J. Orton, Roland Banks, Greg Banks and Don Banks will serve as active pallbearers. Tim White, Danny White, Toney White, Eugene White and William Hampton will serve as honorary pallbearers. All pallbearers are requested to assemble at the funeral home by 7:30 p.m. Monday and at the cemetery by 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Family, minister and friends may gather at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 129 White St., Erwin. Mrs. Hampton was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. White Sr., in 1997; her mother, Ruth Herndon White, in 1975; and a grandson, Michael Trent Hampton, in 1980. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Jack Orton, and a grandson, Joshua T. Hampton.
