Steve Allen Dodson, 65, of Cerro Gordo, passed away February 22, 2022 in his home.
Steve was born in Decatur on October 24, 1956, the son of Ronald and Patsy (Jewell) Dodson. He married Janice C. on May 14, 1982 in Decatur. Steve was a sheet metal worker who spent his free time enjoying NASCAR, fishing, hunting, and WWE wrestling. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
Steve is survived by his wife Janice; father Ronald; children Shavon (Johnny) E. of Decatur and Donald (Tammy) of Georgia; siblings Shari (Ron) of Decatur, Ronnie (Lori F) of North Carolina, and Jennifer (Devon) of Decatur; grandchildren Sean, Shanea, Shanley, Makenzie, Madison, and Makayln; great-grandchild Brixton; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, stepmother Charlene Dodson, siblings Sandra Dodson and Roy Hammer, aunt Marilyn Lobb, and cousin Randy Lobb.
Graceland Fairlawn is providing cremation services for Steve. A memorial visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, February 25 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Emory University (GA) or the American Cancer Society.
