Mrs. Wanda Dunn Allen, age 69 of Grant, Alabama passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home.
Wanda was born in Dutton, Alabama to Orie & Ruby Winkles Dunn on May 28, 1952. Wanda and her husband, Glenn, were married for 53 years and raised 4 children-3 sons, Brad Allen, James Allen, Kenneth Allen and 1 daughter, Teresa Sutton Click; 11 grandchildren, Alan-Michael Sutton, Lance Ledbetter, Tyler Ledbetter, Kabram Allen, Gabe Allen, Mekenlea Allen, Dylan Allen, Justin Allen, Sarah Sutton Gossett, Daniel Sutton, Cynthia Click, and Coby Click; 3 great grandchildren, Hudson Allen, Luke Allen, and Aubrey Gossett; a brother, Leon Dunn; two sisters, Betty Jo Hart and Judy Kirkland. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dunn and her parents.
She was a stay-at-home mom and grandma. She was devoted to her children and family, but her world revolved around her grandkids who affectionately called her Nanny. Her love of thrift shopping was passed down from her mom, Ruby. They spend many days shopping and laughing. She also had a floral talent for making arrangements-always making sure her parents, friends, and families graves were beautifully upkept with the help of her son, James.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Grant Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Free Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Grant Memorial Chapel.
