Maud Salisbury Allen was the daughter of Henry Salisbury and Rosina Norton. The location of her father's grave is unknown, but he died in 1873 when Maud was very young. Her mother remarried to George Galer in 1875. Maud married Francis Orville Allen in 1892 in Hastings, NE. Only one child (Henry Allen) was born to this union.

Per the newspaper "Southwestern Progress" of Mountain View, Oklahoma of 26 Oct 1900, Fri · Page 4: "Mrs. F.O. Allen is lying very sick with typhoid fever at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Dellinger."

Per the newspaper "Southwestern Progress" of Mountain View, Oklahoma of 16 Nov 1900, Fri, Page 4: "Mrs. Maud Allen died last Thursday morning at the home of J.W. Dellinger northwest of this city. The body was buried at the Oakdale cemetery Friday. Mrs. Allen came to this country about two months ago with her husband who went to work shucking corn. The sickness and death of his wife has been a sad misfortune to the husband."

Maud's son, Henry, was a young boy when his mother died, but he remembered as she was dying she said, "But who will take care of my Henry?" Henry was raised by his grandmother, Rosina Galer.
