Per the newspaper "Southwestern Progress" of Mountain View, Oklahoma of 16 Nov 1900, Fri, Page 4: "Mrs. Maud Allen died last Thursday morning at the home of J.W. Dellinger northwest of this city. The body was buried at the Oakdale cemetery Friday. Mrs. Allen came to this country about two months ago with her husband who went to work shucking corn. The sickness and death of his wife has been a sad misfortune to the husband."
Maud's son, Henry, was a young boy when his mother died, but he remembered as she was dying she said, "But who will take care of my Henry?" Henry was raised by his grandmother, Rosina Galer.
