Jack was born April 29, 1933, to Elizabeth Valkema Miles and Charles Edward Miles in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the Army, then worked in sales. Jack enjoyed gardening and walking among other outdoor activities, as well as reading and vacationing. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Jack is survived by Kathryn Miles, his wife of sixty-five years; children Charles W. Miles of Hendersonville, Patricia L. Loudenback (Thad) of Tampa, Florida, Robert A. Miles (Sue) of Old Fort, North Carolina, Linda M. Daley of Lake Lure, North Carolina and Lucile A. Miles (Paul) of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren Scott, Daniel, Caleb, Jason and Celeste; and great-grandchildren Preston, Chase, Zak, Taylor, Morgan and Alex.
A service will be held at Mills River SDA Church, with David White officiating
