While Tim's career provided many opportunities for growth and fulfillment, he was also extremely active in recovery programs and mentorship through the ManKind Project. His work with MKP and recovery programs provided a greater purpose for him, and lifelong friendships.
In September 2012, Tim met his future husband, Adam. Soon after, Adam moved in, and the two created a home filled with their growing love and commitment to one another. Adam proposed on Tim's 50th birthday, much to Tim's surprise, and they were married the following August. The happy couple spent the next three years in their house on 52nd Street saving every penny so they could buy their "forever" home. Last October they moved into their "forever" home, and Tim got right to work. His creativity and drive to make their house a home shines through in every detail.
Tim is survived by his husband, Adam Preister; parents, Chuck and Sharry Thompson; brothers, Troy Thompson (Amy), Todd Thompson (Jennifer), father-in-law, Rick Preister (Rhonda); sister-in-law, Amy Preister (Nick Kerwin); many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Grace Owen, Levi and Margaret Thompson; mother-in-law, Sandy Preister.
