Mr. Jeffrey Scott Lawson age 43 of South Carthage died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday morning February 20, 2022 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville while awaiting surgery.

Mr. Lawson was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was said at 11 a.m. Friday morning February 25th at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Lebanon. The church Father, Rev. James Panackal, was the communicant. A private family inurnment will be in the Crawford family lot at the Gordonsville Cemetery at a later date.

One of two children, a son and a daughter, he was the son of Harvie Thomas Lawson Jr. and Evelyn Jean Crawford Lawson of Carthage and was born Jeffrey Scott Lawson at the former Carthage General Hospital in South Carthage on February 7, 1979.

Mr. Lawson was a 1997 graduate of the Gordonsville High School.

He attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and graduated with a degree in the Culinary Arts from the Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville.

While at M.TS.U. he met the love of his life, the former Shannon Kathleen Stanton. They were united in marriage at the Mt. Pleasant home of her parents on October 4, 2014.

In addition to being an accomplished chef, Mr. Lawson was employed by the Wilson County School System as a substitute teacher.

"Jeff was known for caring for and defending his "pack," entertaining folks with fun facts, running tabletop gaming campaigns, and being extraordinarily creative and pure of heart. H will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing his path."

Mr. Lawson was baptized and became a communicant of the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lebanon.
