Marie Edna Baird Ross, age 93 years, Strunk, KY., wife of Charles Ross, passed from this life Sunday, February 20, 2022 at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY.
She was born at Marsh Creek on September 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Frona Ramsey Baird. She attended Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, was an excellent cook, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie was the eldest daughter of twelve siblings. She married the love of her life, Charles Ross on August 18, 1952.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Charles Ross, daughter, Elaine Ross Clark of Knoxville, TN.; sons, Gene Ross of Strunk, KY., Dwight and wife Stephanie of Strunk, KY.; grandchildren, Joshua and wife Keidi Clark, Jessica and husband John Roth, Katelyn and husband Brian Tisdale, Cody Ross, Megan and husband Kyle Gehring; Great grandchildren, Alexandria Marie Clark, Dagen Thomas, Colette Marie Roth, John Lincoln Roth, Landon Charles Tisdalel, Elizabeth (Thea) Tisdale, Elodie Marie Tisdale and Tucker Gordon Cehring.
In addition to her parents, Walter and Mary Frona Baird, she is preceded in death by her son, Glen Charles Ross; brothers, Elmer, Estel, Emery, Leamon and Fremon Baird; sisters, Mary M. Baltimore, Elizabeth Kangas, Betty Anderson, Edalene King, Sally Baird and Sue Carol Baird.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 12:00 pm with visitation from 10:00 am until service time, with Brother Mark Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in Otter Creek Cemetery.
