Janet Perez Torres age 72, of Toledo, passed away at Mercy St. Anne Hospital on Friday, February 18, 2022. Janet was born to Manuel and Romelia (Cortez) Perez on March 19, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio. She was a graduate of Waite High School and worked as a receptionist for WTVG Channel 30. Janet was the kind of person who always had a smile on her face, was very kind and witty. As a single mother, she was strong, hardworking, and loving. Janet was a social butterfly and could to talk to anyone but most enjoyed spending time with her children and her siblings. She was a talented artist who loved to draw and take pictures. As the family party planner, she also enjoyed cooking and baking (which helped with her sweet tooth). Janet danced in a Mexican folkloric dance group and enjoyed gardening and antique shopping with her sisters. Despite her hardships, she always wore a smile and hard a warm heart. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Janet is survived by her children Salvador Torres, Janet Torres, and Vicente Torres; brothers, Jesse (Rita) Perez, Loncio Perez, Refujio (Jessica Moses) Perez; sisters, Romelia (Armondo) Herrera, Thaimi Ruiz, and Nancy (John) Sroga, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Manuel Jr., Galdino, Gaston, and John Perez; and sisters, Clementine Perez, Fatima Perez and Linda Herrera.
Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the family.
