He was a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1951 and a Master of Science Degree in 1954. He was a Vo-Ag teacher for 12 years at Green Park Union High School.
At the age of 33 he went to the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School where he received his VMD degree (Veterinary Medical Doctor). He was beloved by many as "Doc" who took care of their pets and large animals.
He was an avid Nittany Lion fan who enjoyed many weekends with his family at Penn State. His favorite holiday was the 4 th of July. He always had a different theme each year which often required the family to dress the part and research the theme. They were directed to perform skits and speeches on the topic he had chosen.
Doc was preceded in death by the love of his life, B. Joyce Cook , whom he met in grade school. They were married for 54 years before her passing in 2005.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter Debbie ( Steve) Fehnel and his sons Mark (Jaci) Cook and Tom (Fran) Cook. He treasured his seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike), Eric (Sarah), Stephen (Ashley), Lauren (Lou), CC (Mike), Evan (Julia), and Halie (Steve). Also, five great grandchildren, Carter, Grayson, Peyton, Rylee, Julia and two more boys on the way.
