Donald "Don" Wayne Ray of Sundown formally of Rising Star, 85, passed from this life on February 14, 2022, in Levelland, TX. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Sundown Church in Sundown. Interment will be on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Rising Star Cemetery in Rising Star, Texas.



Don was born on December 15, 1936, in Stephenville, TX to Joseph Oscar Ray and Myrtle Abbie (Gentry) Ray. Don was the 5th of 7 children. He graduated from Lovington High in 1955, and worked for Texas Pacific Railroad after high school graduation. Don served in the US Navy from June 1957-1961. He married Charlotte Jean Clawson on July 13, 1963, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Don and Charlotte had two children, Randy Ray and Lori Taylor. Charlotte passed from this life on April 5, 2018. Don was blessed to marry his high school sweetheart, Joann Fisher (Morgan) on August 18, 2018. Don and Joann attended Sundown Church in Sundown.



He was proceeded in death by parents, his first wife Charlotte, 5 siblings, Dorothy Boone, Faye Ray, Joseph Ray Jr., Roy Ray and Richard Ray.



He is survived by his second wife Joann Ray. 1 sister, Peggy Butler and husband Curtis of Huckaby. 4 children, Randy Ray and wife Patricia of Midland. Lori Taylor and husband Brian of Memphis, TN. Diann Brister and husband George of Mansfield. Angie Vest and husband Russell of Levelland. 9 grandkids, Zachary Ray of Houston, Katie Ray of Chicago, IL, Troy Taylor and Fiancé Rachel Webb of Memphis TN, Zeke Taylor of Memphis TN, David Brister and wife Hiekii of Mansfield, Daniel Brister of Mansfield, Addie Bell of Cuero, Quintin Vest and wife Alisha of Lubbock, Kelsie Albus and husband Brandon of Littlefield. 10 Great Grandkids. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
